Seventeen years after Konami released the first Track & Field to arcades, the company that started the genre is back with ESPN International Track & Field. The button-mashing gameplay may be the same, but this time around there are twelve different events, motion-captured athletes and four-player simultaneous play.

Go for the gold in the 100-meter dash, long jump, weightlifting, pole vault, skeet shooting, and more. Play in Single event or Championship mode. Multiplayer capability allows head-to-head confrontations or intense athletic battle with up to four players.

Each event helps create a realistic sporting experience by making players master challenging controller techniques that are unique for each individual sport. Skeet shooting requires a sharp eye and lightning trigger finger reactions, whilst in rhythmic gymnastics the player can even use a Dancing Stage mat. (PlayStation 2 only!)

ESPN International Track And Field gets a seal of approval from Track And Field stars Maurice Green, the world record holder in the 100m and winner of World Championship gold medals. and three-time Olympic Medallist Ato Boldon.

In addition to the usual events, like the 100-meter dash and long jump, more esoteric competitions are also included, such as rhythmic gymnastics, which happens to play just like Konami's Japanese hit rhythm game Dance Dance Revolution.
