Defending has been re-designed to make it as skilful and meaningful as real-world football with all-new Tactical Defending, where positioning and intercepting passes are as important as tackling. Tactics and timing are crucial.

The FIFA series continues on PlayStation 2 with a choice of 500 licensed clubs, 30 official leagues, and 15,000 real-life players. The career mode has you following your favorite club across 15 seasons while earning fame along the way to cement your legacy. The PlayStation 2's exclusive lounge mode lets you save up to eight profiles for friendly competition among family members, and you'll once again be able to play as the goalkeeper during a match to ensure your club's success on the pitch. The tournament mode has you competing in a series of 50 tournaments, or you can create your own.
