Missing Parts Side A - The Tantei Stories is an adventure game released first for the Dreamcast console and later in Playstation 2 with a new control system, A CG gallery & enhanced graphics. Also in the Side B game there is an unlockable bonus story that can be played after complete the 3 episodes. In Playstation 2 the game is divided into 2 different games called Side A & Side B. The game was later ported to PSP with the name of Missing Parts - The Tantei Stories Complete.

Each of the Playstation 2 games got 3 episodes.

Standard interactive gaming interface allows for character conversations and a number of camera functions give players the power of zoom, viewpoint shifting and panning. Play through three sleuthing scenarios which are separately contained chapters but are also intertwined somehow. Unlockable modes in the game include a CG gallery and a BGM mode.

The games plot is about Kyosuke Magami working at the Narumi detective agency. Daughter of Seiji Narumi disappeared and Magami has to find her. But this is one of the part of the big story! Magami going to find more mysterious things behind the original reason of the disappear.

Side A Episodes:
- The music box: This case takes place in an antiques shop when a murder takes place.
- The red cameo: This case takes place in an idol audition when some suspicious things are happening and it will be a murder too.
- The paper knife: In this case Kyosuke receives something from Ryota and got to investigate an incident, during the case a mysteriouse black society will appear.

CHARACTERS:
- Kyosuke Magami: 23 years old working for the agency. The main character of the game
- Teppei Shiraishi: 24 years old and working with Kyosuke. She is his handyman.
- Narumi Tsukishima: 27 years old, the proprietor of the antique shop. You will find more things in his shop.
- Kyoka Narumi: 28 years old, Acting Director of Narumi detective agency. Has respect for the mature detectives.
- Nanako Kamoi: 17 years old, school girl who stays around always at the internet cafe Saibaria. Working at a restaurant where she has to change the menu.
- Himuro Yutaka: 45 years old, Criminal Investigation Division.
- Naoharu Morikawa: 27 years old, men in police criminal investigation department. Always fighting with Kyosuke, hates the detective.
- Koki Suwa: 52 years old, lawyer. Kyoka's father.
